Well, it's been a while since my last post.  Sometimes life just gets in the way.  And, I'm still sort of new to the whole blogging thing.  I think I need to make a mid-year resolution to try and blog more often!

So, for today, I'll share some of my personal creations.  One of my favorite shows is Sons Of Anarchy.  I'm a very faithful watcher :)  I have a section in my Etsy shop dedicated to SOA inspired feather necklaces, after seeing "Tara" wearing that beautiful feather necklace in seasons 4 and 5.

Here are some of my favorites, and the links to where you can purchase them!

Solid sterling silver.  This is my personal fave!

Life in 2012

Well, I just realized it's been over a year since I posted anything here.  Time has really flown by!  2012 has been a bit of a hectic year, with some really rough patches.

I lost my great aunt in the late spring.  She was my grandmother's younger sister, and we had always been really close.  I could talk to her about anything, and I saw her nearly every day.  She loved jewelry, and always liked seeing what I made.  I really miss her.

In July, we were able to take a trip to the east coast to visit my stepson, his wife, and our two grandkids.  He's in the Army, and we are SO proud of him :)  We had a great visit!  We also got to go up to Washington, DC and Philadelphia, and spent two nights in Maryland with my husband's sister and her family.  It was a family-filled historical trip.  I'll have to post a blog about that later.

We still have the pups that got dumped here last fall.  We found a home for one, but I couldn't stand to part with the other three.  I can't imagine life without them!

Lots of other stuff has happened too....like my hubby being in a wreck (not his fault) and his car being totalled :(  That happened in August, and he's still having to go to the chiropractor every week.  I think we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel on that though, which is good!

I've been constantly working on jewelry too.  I've got lots of new stuff in my Etsy shop :)  Here are some samples!

I will try to be more faithful in posting here!  Life just gets in the way sometimes.  But here's hoping that the rest of 2012 will bring nothing but happiness for everyone!

Hardy Powwow 2011

Ahh, it's been a while since I've been on here.  So much to do, so little time to get it all done.

This past weekend, we went to a Pow Wow in Hardy, AR.  We had such a great time!  The Aztec Dancers were there, and all I can say about them is WOW!  If I had known we could film them, we would've taken the camcorder.  We will definitely make this a yearly event to go to!  As well as the dancing, we also enjoyed meeting lots of nice folks, and delicious food.  I had to eat an Indian taco...one of my favorite things!  I also tried a meat pie, which I had never eaten before, but it was absolutely delicious.

Here are a few pics for you to enjoy!

Dogs

Well, the last two days have been eventful, to say the least.  Apparently, someone dumped four pups in our yard in the middle of the night on Wednesday.  They appear to be maybe a lab mix.  Really sweet pups, but I have no place for them, nor the money to properly take care of them.

Our local shelter is full, and I don't want to take them to the pound.  I have a feeling this situation will end up making me cry.  All I have is love and compassion for animals, especially dogs.  Dogs are the most wonderful companions.  I truly believe that God put them here on earth to be companions to people.  They do nothing but give unconditional love.  How could someone ever mistreat one?  How could someone ever abandon one?  These are things I just cannot comprehend.  I do know that you reap what you sow.  All I can do is try and take care of these sweet pups.  Give them love, food, and water until I can find homes for them.

Here is a picture of them in the early morning hours yesterday when I discovered them in our yard:

Most recent creations

Just thought I would share a few pictures of my newest creations.  A tigereye necklace, and a zeebra striped matching set.  Hmm....animals must have been on my mind lately!

I absolutely love making jewelry!  I love experimenting with different stones, and all different beads, and all different styles.  Although, I will say, Native American styles are by far my very favorite.  I love turquoise, bone beads, and loom work.  I haven't done a lot of bead weaving, but what I have done has turned out very nicely.  I wish I knew someone who could show me how to do the peyote stitch.  I'm more of a watch and learn type person, so looking at pictures online hasn't really helped me so far.

I will try to be faithful in this whole blogging adventure, but I'll make no promises.  I tend to get sidetracked easily!

About Me

I'm completely new to this "blog" thing, but we'll see how it goes.  I figured my first blog should be just giving folks a little information about myself.  My name is Beth, I'm 36, I was adopted when I was 3 months old.  The people who adopted me are my family; I know nothing about any birth relatives.  I have a younger brother who has always been one of my best friends.  I've been married to my husband, Mark, for almost 10 years now.  Married life is wonderful!  I grew up living next door to my grandparents, and I was extremely close to them.  Now, my husband and I live in my grandparents' house, next door to my dad.

My likes and dislikes.....I love my family, my friends, and my pets!  We have one dog, Dixie, and one cat, Miss Kitty.  Dixie is my little protector, she sticks by me wherever I am.  Miss Kitty is too wild to live indoors, but she does wait by the door for her food every morning and evening.  My husband and I love to travel.  My favorite states include New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana.  That's not all of them, but most.  We try to take a trip every summer, when funds allow us to do so.

I make jewelry and sell it locally and on Etsy.  You can view my Etsy page here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/twofeathersjewelry

I guess that's enough for now.  I'll share some pictures of my latest work on the next blog!
